Course Overview
Provides opportunities to explore current theories/practices in information systems and health communication and develop innovative strategies for using emerging information and communication technologies to facilitate patient care and inter-professional collaboration.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- CO 1: Analyze principles of innovation, nursing science, and evidence-based practice to appraise the utility of information and communication technologies in clinical practice.
- CO 2: Evaluate existing and emerging information technologies for their potential to facilitate evidence-based practice.
- CO 3: Evaluate existing and emerging communication technologies for their potential to enhance health promotions targeting individuals, small groups, and populations.
- CO 4: Evaluate methods to test prototype information and communication technologies for potential integration into clinical practice.
- CO 5: Evaluate the ethical challenges associated with integrating information and communication technologies into evidence-based practice.
- CO 6: Reconstruct the design of future information and communication technologies to enhance evidence-based practice and collaboration among patients, providers, and inter-professional workgroups
